There will not be Bible Study this Tuesday, August 23. We will begin the Book of Exodus next week. We enjoyed the stories and characters of Genesis these past few months. We will move to Moses, having worked our way from Creation thru the Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We especially loved the story of Joseph, which is familiar even to seculars because of the musical versions of the Multi-colored Coat. Join us Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm on August 30, as we start Exodus. You only need to bring your favorite Bible. We meet at Peet’s Coffee in the Hamilton Marketplace in Novato, where you can enjoy your favorite beverage and study with friends.
Thursday, we will have Morning Prayer at 10 am at the church. This gives us a time to pray together during the week. Morning Prayer is part of the life of the parish. Your priest says MP and Evening Prayer each day, as do all the priests of the Province. There are others also who are in the habit of saying both of these offices. Consider joining us in prayer at home and at the church on Thursdays at 10 am. When we pray together the Kingdom becomes very real and our lives are changed for the better.
Next Sunday we have Mass at 10 am. Our Miss Joanna will be back with us to enhance our worship with Hymns of joy, glory and praise. Come join us for the Holy Sacrifice.
We thank Mr. and Mrs. Price for the beautiful new cross, which was presented last week. Mike is a wonderful worker of wood. The Prices generosity will make even more beautiful our chapel for years to come. The cross was an inspiration that came after their visit to the United Kingdom as pilgrimage following the path of the Venerable Bede. Come see it and enter into history. Many thanks, Mike and Ruth.
Please continue to pray for the sick, the needy, our nation and especially for our church: Ruth, Mignon, Bob, Royal, Fred, Bernice, Doug, Kay, Tiger, Geoff, Fred and Vicky, also Betsy. Our Leadership Committee will be meeting on September 8, following Morning Prayer. We will be working on how we can better lead the church. Please pray for Our Wardens, Treasurer and clergy as we work together to build up the church in Marin County.
