Here is the link for today’s sermon from St Mark’s, http://stmarkschurchlarkspur.com/?page_id=155  .

Today is Good Shepherd Sunday and we have the best Shepherd.  We all like sheep are gone astray, but He brings us back into the fold, using his church and His children to accomplish that.  God bless your week and please pray the Diocese of the Western States as we meet for Synod this week.  It will be wonderful to be with friends from the other churches throughout the Diocese.  No Bible Study Tuesday.  See you all next Sunday.

Sunday’s, 2nd Sunday in Lent, sermon is now available by clicking the link, http://stmarkschurchlarkspur.com/?page_id=155.  Christ calls us to purity, holiness, and we study about it during this Sunday’s readings.  We will only complete the journey to holiness when we are face to face with Him, who is Holy, when this life is over.  The journey takes place here because it is His will that we are holy.  Sexual sins are against ourself because we were made for holiness, possess our vessel, clean, for Him.    They are sins against others because we are dishonest and selfish.  He takes these sins seriously. They are also against God and because of our Baptism, we are in special relationship to Him.  In Baptism we are grafted into Him and given all the grace we need.  The Holy Ghost is given in Baptism and Confirmation to teach us to be sanctified, through power and strength.  Take this information into the Gospel and see the interesting interplay between a woman (a mother) not from the “flock” and Jesus.  If Christ loved the “dogs” He certainly will love His sheep!  Live with that!

As is our tradition at St Mark’s Church, we walked the Stations of the Cross together in lieu of a sermon last Sunday, the 1st Sunday in Lent. It is a custom to look towards the end of Passiontide so we know to where we are aiming. These 14 steps help us focus on the greatest gift we could receive from our Redeemer. His suffering gives us life. Listen to the Stations of the Cross by clicking the link, http://stmarkschurchlarkspur.com/?page_id=155 .
